Why I Work by Referral

When I started Personal Touch Travel Design, I made a decision that felt completely natural to me. I chose to build my business by referral. It’s the way I built my real estate career years ago, and it felt like the most genuine way to grow something meaningful again.

Working by referral means that most of my clients come to me because someone they know had a great experience and wanted to share it. Whether it’s a friend, a family member, or someone who traveled with me before, referrals come from people who know me, trust me, and want others to feel the same level of care and attention they received. That trust means the world to me. It’s not just a name passed along—it’s a reflection of a relationship.

I started this business in June of 2021, right in the middle of the pandemic. I had just moved to a brand-new city where I knew only a handful of people. I couldn’t go out and network like I used to, so I started by reaching out to everyone I already knew across the country. As things began to open up, I made it a priority to meet people locally—through community groups, volunteer work, and just saying yes to lunch or dinner invitations. Because I work from home, those face-to-face moments are something I really enjoy.

Referrals are how I know I’m doing something right. When someone calls and says they were told to reach out to me, it makes my day. It tells me I made a lasting impression. And it also tells me that I will probably enjoy working with that person too. If we’ve traveled together or if we’re friends, you know the heart and care I put into every trip I plan. I’m so grateful when you share that with others. Thank you for helping me grow a business built on trust, connection, and memorable journeys.

Contact me if I can help you or any of your friends or family.
