Five Years of Building Memories One Vacation at a Time
On June 7, Personal Touch Travel Design celebrated its fifth anniversary. It is hard to believe that five years have passed since I took a leap of faith and launched a business built around one of my greatest passions: travel.
When Steve and I moved to Washington in 2020, I knew I wanted to start another business. Having previously worked as a REALTOR® in Raleigh, I was looking for something that would allow me to work from anywhere, connect with people across the country, and focus on something I truly loved.
Travel has always been an important part of our lives. Throughout our marriage, Steve and I have explored new destinations, experienced different cultures, and created memories that we will cherish forever. Those experiences taught me that travel is about much more than simply visiting a destination. It is about connection, discovery, and creating moments that stay with us long after we return home.
After a great deal of research and careful consideration, I decided to enter the travel industry. My first year was spent immersed in an intensive training program, learning every aspect of building and operating a successful travel business. Looking back, those long hours of training and education were well worth the investment.
Over the past five years, I have had the privilege of helping clients create their own unforgettable travel memories. Together, we have planned road trips throughout the United States, ocean, river, and yacht cruises, rail journeys across North America and Europe, group tours, and private adventures throughout Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America.
Each trip has been unique because every traveler has different dreams, interests, and goals. Some clients have celebrated milestone birthdays and anniversaries. Others have taken bucket-list journeys they had dreamed about for years. Many have traveled with children, grandchildren, or lifelong friends. No matter the destination, I consider it an honor to help bring those travel dreams to life.
One of the reasons I love this profession is that travel has the power to transform us. It encourages us to step outside our comfort zones, experience different cultures, meet new people, try new foods, and see the world from a different perspective. Travel reminds us that there is a big, beautiful world waiting to be explored.
As I reflect on the past five years, I am filled with gratitude. I am grateful for every client who has trusted me with their vacations, celebrations, and adventures. I am grateful for the referrals, friendships, and relationships that have grown from this business. Most of all, I am grateful that I get to do work that I genuinely love every day.
To everyone who has been part of this journey, thank you. Your support has helped Personal Touch Travel Design grow and thrive, and I am excited to see what the next five years will bring.
If you are dreaming about your next adventure, whether it is a cruise, a bucket-list vacation, a family getaway, or a custom-designed journey, I would love to help you start planning.
Here's to the next five years of building memories, one vacation at a time.
