The Luxury of Time
Everyone has the same amount of hours in a week. Having the “luxury of time” usually means being able to engage in activities that you enjoy, whether it is working on a favorite project, relaxing with friends and family, reading a book, meditating or just taking a walk in nature.
As a Travel Advisor, I give them the “luxury of time” in a few ways:
Researching & Designing Itineraries:
Once I have a consultation with my clients, I am able to pick the perfect travel partner to work with to create a unique itinerary to meet or exceed my clients’ needs. Whether this is presenting the perfect cruise option, train trip, group tour group or private tours, I use my resources saving clients time researching on their own. And when they have questions, I am the one that contacts the cruise line or the travel partner to get answers they need.
Fitting the Pieces Together:
When I plan a trip, I am sure that there are no gaps in the planning. Whether that means a private transfer from the airport to the hotel, a tour on the day of arrival to familiarize my clients with their destination, a ferry from 1 island to another or a pre or post cruise hotel, I make sure their trip is seamless. This saves my clients the time and stress of trying to figure it out and they can use that time to dream about their vacation.
Exclusive Amenities:
When clients choose to work with me, I am often able to provide exclusive amenities to them. My host agency, GTN and my consortia, Virtuoso, are part of many exclusive Hotel Elite Programs, where I can offer special priveleges and exclusive rate promotions and recognition. In addition, I can frequently offer exclusive amenities and savings on cruises depending on the cruise line and booked cabin or suite. I can save clients time by knowing of these options and money by offering special included amenities.
Organization:
While I am in the planning stage of a trip, I am adding all of the pertinent information to an itinerary app. This includes copies of passports, travel insurance, city guides, flight information, complete itinerary and all necessary paperwork. Prior to departure, I provide my clients all of this information in both hard copy and an app for their phones. In this way, they have everything they need with them, in case they don’t have internet access, and in the palm of their hands. This saves time as they are not searching for the necessary information they need each day for their vacation and if changes need to be made, they are made in real time and available to them immediately.
Tips & Tricks:
I not only curate and design itineraries, but I also advise my clients about all aspects of their trips. Whether it is discussing the importance of travel insurance, reminding them to contact their cell phone provider to arrange for a global calling plan or checking to be sure they have credit cards with no foreign transaction fees, I want my clients to have all aspects of their trips covered.
There is a lot to do and think about when planning a vacation. As the expert, I do this every day allowing my clients the time to do what they need to do every day. And when it is time to depart, they are ready and prepared to enjoy their adventure and make the most of their vacation time.
